Meanwhile, I have been living in Sydney for six months, and how time flies! After the successful completion of my latest project, I'm working in the office, preparing a new project. Here we are tapping a new market: from car leasing and fleet management to retail asset financing. Definitely no easy feat, but necessary because of the changing conditions on the Australian market. The first exploratory talks with a potential client are behind us. And it was an instructive experience. It's good to get out of your comfort zone from time to time and ask yourself a few questions. That is one of the aspects of my job that you always have to bear in mind.

My daily life outside work has got into a certain routine. In the city, in accordance with good, healthy Australian tradition, there are dozens of fitness centres. Professionals are already there at six in the morning, working hard to get ready for the summer, which runs roughly from September to April. I am never likely to be a morning person, so the evening sessions suit me better. Friday is always 'dinner and a movie' time. Near my apartment there is a great sushi restaurant and an old-fashioned alternative cinema where you sip bubbly or wine while you enjoy the latest Woody Allen. At the weekend, I usually leave town. The range of natural beauty on offer seems inexhaustible: from Cogee and Bondi via the Royal National Parks to the Blue Mountains. Meanwhile, I bought a car. A roadster, because where else but here can you really exploit it to the full? It gives me the freedom to get away further, and make the most of my time under the Australian sun.

I can’t predict what the future will bring, but for now I'm doing pretty well here in God's Own Country. Sofico now has an office in Tokyo and who knows what location will come next…
