EEBI is part of the European Schools System, providing education for children whose parents work for European Institutions. Our school community consists of 4,250 pupils of 60 different nationalities and more than 500 members of staff coming from the various Member States and beyond. Pupils are taught in eight main language sections: Danish, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish and Spanish. Set on a spacious, leafy campus in the South of Brussels, we aim to provide innovative and inclusive teaching programs that achieve outstanding academic results. Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Proficiency in the German and/or English language equivalent to that of an educated native speaker
  • Appropriate degree: diploma to teach History and Human Sciences in accordance with the regulations of the German or English Ministry of National Education
  • Recent secondary school teaching experience
  • Proven track record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice and experience of working in a team
  • Experience teaching History and Human Sciences in German and/or English
  • Ability to teach mixed ability classes using effective differentiation
  • A high level of professionalism and care for the well-being of children
  • Willing to contribute to the life of the secondary school

Preference shall be given to a teacher who has:

  • teaching experience in a European or an international school
  • ability to also teach another subject
  • knowledge of the European School’s curriculum (http://www.eursc.org)
  • knowledge of other European languages
  • ability to integrate new technologies as a pedagogical tool;
