Job description:

Accountable for the Laboratory protocol adherence and data quality of assigned laboratory projects in the PCRU Brussels in accordance with scientific, medical and ethical principles and with GxP requirement guidelines. Therefore s/he will act as the Main Laboratory Point of Contact for any laboratory study or assigned projects related question(s). Maintains effective laboratory communication with all customers (organize laboratory project meetings, ensure clarity of laboratory processes) & handle laboratory project planning and budget Develops and maintains quality processes and SOPs related to assigned projects Challenge/Ensure continuous improvement is part of our daily business in our laboratory Supports the Laboratory planning and schedule aiming to forecast sufficient trained resources upfront and remain within budget. Ensuring that the assigned projects are carried out following GxP, scientific, medical, and ethical principles, within regulatory requirements/guidelines, and standard operating procedures; Works closely with our stakeholders (PCRU colleagues & external vendors) for the management of the day to day study activities for immediate & middle/long term problem solving, ensuring that project milestones will be met. Reviews Laboratory protocols and provide feasibility assessments on the ability to perform laboratory requirements and procedures & ensure clinical trials are conducted according to the protocol requirement, objectives and timelines Develops and setup our laboratory capabilities and competencies required for conducting our laboratory activities in the PCRU BR Performs ongoing & regular quality reviews of our laboratory data for achieving audit-readiness; Overseeing the collection and documentation of assigned Laboratory studies data; Contributes to Laboratory study set up in our electronic data capture system for laboratory protocols, according to protocol requirements, CRU SOP's, and standardized processes. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.


Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor Degree (Life Science/Biomedical or Health Care related training). Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical or medical research. Technical requirements Thorough understanding and demonstrated proficiency in handling laboratory projects Scientific/Clinical Research Knowledge : Excellent knowledge of our clinical & analytical Laboratory environment; Demonstrated understanding of the complexities and recent developments in Biomarker/exploratory research; Challenges existing paradigms in clinical research and encourages novel designs/ideas and research approaches; works to improve study conduct, data capture and retrieval and submission processes. IT Knowledge: Working knowledge of computers and laboratory data handling acquisition systems and associated issues/risks. Language skills: Good written and verbal skills in English, French and/or Dutch are essential Finance awareness: Ability to develop budget estimates, justify costs and manage performance against budget. Communication: Ability to communicate in easily understandable language for complicated research principles. Must be able to coach and assist less skilled or inexperienced personnel in the performance of study activities. Team Work: Participation in multifunctional, interdepartmental management teams; Able to lead multi-disciplinary groups; ability to manage projects and motivate; Comfortable with implementing changes. Business oriented: Acts to achieve departmental and WRD goals; Able to anticipate our future need; Able to set study priorities from his own. Customer focus: Identifies and builds effective relationships with customers and other stakeholders; Networking: Looks for opportunities for collaboration and acts upon them.
