My client is a multinational manufacturing company.

We are looking for an experienced Group Manager Procurement.

Our client is a dynamic family owned multinational, active in metal manufacturing.

Description

The Group Manager Procurement has two main responsibilities. The first is an operational role as buyer for the production facility in Belgium (30 % of your time), the second responsibility is the main one. You will fulfil a strategic role of coordinating and optimising the global primary (mainly raw material) procurement volume.

This implies the development and management of running the global buying team (7FTE) within the global production facilities.

You will have responsibility for spend management with an annual purchasing spend of approx. 100 million euros.

This responsibility includes purchasing, spend management, procurement leveraging, strategic sourcing, lead time and inventory optimisation, business process and technology development, supplier development, supplier relations and the development of sustainable sourcing partnerships.

The Group Manager Procurement will be accountable for generating significant savings year over year while driving continuous improvement and compliance with all sourcing practices and policies.

Profile

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience within a multi-national company.

This must include a minimum of 5 years in a (project) managerial role involving strategic sourcing with emphasis on change management, staff development, continuous improvement programs including supplier improvement, integrated supply chain management, costs reduction programs, total cost modelling and organisational restructuring

Be a leader with a high energy level

Be a demonstrated team player with strong negotiating and people management skills.

Have leadership skills and business knowledge which allow him/her to assume additional management responsibilities.

Have demonstrated experience in commodity buying and, in particular, steel or other metals.
