Principal Business Consultants in Financial Services

 

You will join our rapidly growing consulting unit which is specifically focused on Banks and payments institutions as well as a growing number of corporates and FinTech firms who are expanding their financial services offerings. You will develop and deliver projects on the cutting edge, including Innovation, FinTech, Open Banking, and Digital Transformation.

You will be based in Brussels and provide consulting services to our Belgian and international clients. As a Principal Business Consultant, you will help some of the world’s leading financial institutions and multi-nationals to respond to change and complex business challenges, reduce costs and make strong progress on their journey to sustained growth and transformation.

 

Your Mission:

  • Manage large and complex engagements, to help drive strategy and transformation, and bring a strong impact on client business performance
  • Build and manage strong client relationships
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual capital in your areas of expertise and gain a positive reputation for firm building activities such as thought leadership
  • Identify client needs and opportunities, effectively handle leads and preparing compelling proposals and presentations for new engagements
  • Identify and support business development opportunities
  • Contribute to internal projects and practice development, support the development of initiatives and partnerships which strengthen cooperation across the group, assist in developing and mentoring people
  • Develop new consulting offerings and shaping consulting methodologies, tools and go-to-market materials, especially in line with thought leadership
  • Prepare, present and implement practical bottom line-oriented solutions to senior management level clients
  • Develop and present ideas that shape thought leadership, in particular assist in the creation of white papers / articles in the financial services domain

 

Your Assets

  • Master’s degree and at least 10 – 15 years of experience; An MBA is a strong advantage
  • Extensive project experience in the financial services industry as a consultant and expertise in one or more domains such as Payments, Daily Banking, Lending, Compliance We expect you to have management consultancy experience from a Big-4 or similar consultancy
  • Experience in leading teams through challenging Strategy projects or relevant transferable experience
  • Excellent Knowledge of English (oral and written)
  • Mobile and Flexible – occasional travel within Europe is likely
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability and ability to translate analytics into insight
  • Strong conceptual thinking ability is critical, as is the skill to synthesize data and ideas from diverse sources evidence of strong innovation, problem-solving and structured thinking skills
  • Ability to analyse complex challenges and deliver insightful, practical solutions
  • High degree of commercial acumen and familiarity with strategy frameworks and methodologies
  • Ability to work at senior management level and bring a strong network of clients and contacts. Evidence of strong client handling skills and impact with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, in written and presentation form, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade clients and stakeholder to gain support for major changes and key decisions
