My client and I are looking for a new Learning & Development Assistant.

Description

  • Meetings with the persons in charge of L&D, (competence) managers and individuals to understand needs
  • Reviews the existing curriculum and translates needs into an updated training curriculum and/or individual learning plans and continuously follows up on the status of these individual learning plans
  • Screens the external market for the best possible fit and discuss proposals with the L&D manager/director/partner
  • Contacts other countries when necessary
  • Keeps in line with policies and budgets at all times - keeps all parties informed on status
  • Contacts providers for practical organisation of courses (i.e. dates, accommodation requirements, equipment, etc.) + for discussion of content and programme based upon feedback received from participants
  • Analyses participant and instructor feedback and proposes appropriate action
  • Sends invitations to participants, updates participants lists, sends out evaluation forms, makes necessary travel arrangements, informs instructors
  • Correctly identifies the defined target audience
  • Follows up with persons in charge on status of course material; updates and/or prepares course material for some topics (general information, induction, etc.) - takes care of the copying and distribution of necessary course material for instructors and participants (both hard and soft material)
  • Ensures training rooms are ready before the start of the training (often on the day itself)
  • Monitors maximum capacity of courses and contacts other possible candidates in cases of cancellation
  • Searches for solutions in cases of instructor/participant cancellations
  • Ensures proper application and follow-up of cancellation procedure
  • Timely follows up, correctly dispatches invoices to approve and correctly splits up invoices per cost centre; contacts Finance department and external providers to process invoices correctly
  • Closely monitors actual against budget and regularly reports to all stakeholders (L&D dashboard)
  • Prepares the initial budget based upon input from persons in charge within the business and L&E
  • Updates the Learning Management System (Cornerstone) : makes sure all information is included in the system in a timely and accurate fashion (attendance, course sessions, course descriptions); draws up statistics/reports
  • Keeps up to date with the new learning technology (WebEx, Articulate, iSpring, …) and assists in converting classroom training where appropriate
  • Assists instructors in setting up and implementing tools to increase interactivity and networking during the classroom (eg event app, polling and quizzing tools)
  • provides input and constantly seeks to update use of Cornerstone and different tools
  • Answers questions from internal clients by phone or mail
  • Plans, organises and prepares meetings, prepares minutes of meetings including action lists and follow-up on action
  • Actively participates in the meetings with the L&D team
  • Maintains contacts with HR team, L&D Team, individual clients, external providers and other countries

Profile

  • bachelor's level
  • computer knowledge: Very good use of Excel and Powerpoint
  • languages: fluent English, French and Dutch
  • strong English writing skills
