Our client, a company based in Mouscron, is looking for a junior business finance manager.

Job Description
Key responsabilities

1. Business Partner the Plant Manager/ General Manager

  • Develop in conjunction with the Plant Manager clear actionable plans to ensure delivery against budgeted and forecasted commitments. This should be undertaken by means of support and challenge
  • Initiate and drive strategic projects for the plant and build strong business cases for those projects
  • Spot risks & opportunities

    2. Manage Forecasting and Budgetting process for the plant
  • Drive the Corporate Plan, Budget and Forecast processes for the plant
  • Ensure ambitious and realistic target setting in those processes
  • Deliver the necessary analyses and reports with their interpretion and comments on budget and forecast

    3. Provide insight in key result drivers
  • Monitor & challenge plant performance on prime costs, overheads, OPEX, CAPEX and stocks
  • Ensure that all relevant result variables are understood by the plant
  • Ensure that cause and effect is fully understood and documented in concise and to the point conclusions and commentary
  • Provide constant update of this cause and effect relationship through specifically developed monitoring tools

    4. OPEX Projects
  • Introduce OPEX A3 scoping documents in conjunction with the operational colleagues
  • Ensure all projects actually deliver sustainable benefits within the P&L account
  • Measure and track all OPEX savings, net savings after deduction of costs, on a monthly basis
  • Develop 3-5 year strategic plans to deliver against our commitment to lower operating cost in conjunction with the Plant Manager
  • Participate to the internal audit process and drive agreed actions

    5. Capital Expenditure
  • Coordinate the budget and forecast process for all site projects (incl. Commercial, R&D, ...)
  • Prepare a solid financial analysis of new capex introductions ensuring consistent data including the full picture with detailed calculations and a summary of the costs & benefits
  • Provide substitution if the capex request is not in budget/ forecast
  • Consider & refer to quotes of alternative suppliers
  • Capture, monitor and control the site capex spend
  • Provide post investment appraisals

    6. Working capital management
  • Work with the plant team in the control and minimisation of the raw materials, packaging and WIP
  • Organise the physical inventory process for the plant
  • Inform the Controllers of stock at risk issues to be provided for

    7. Internal control
  • Ensure group policy is applied
  • Implement controls
  • Ensure inefficiencies are reported and action plans are implemented and executed

    8. Support the decision making process
  • Support the costing process in order to achieve the most accurate & challenging costing
  • Support the S&Op process by delivering the necessary financial information
  • Reflect the decisions from the S&Op process in budgets and forecasts  


Job Requirements

  • Master Degree in Business Economics
  • Have a willingness to thorougly understand what the business requires as information
  • Be driven by a need to understand the figures and their business meaning
  • Team player that supports and challenges at the same time
  • Able to influence people outside direct control
  • Results-oriented, making sure all is done to hit the target
  • Ready to invest in the detail and able to conclude on the summary
  • Financial Analysis and Management Accounting
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on results and costing
  • Good understanding of investment analysis
  • Good office tools knowledge
  • Good analytical skills
  • Able to develop good and simple concepts in support of a detailed and complex business environment
  • English : Good mastering of written and spoken language
  • French : Good mastering of written and spoken language
  • Dutch : Is a plus
