Challenging Managing Director's position for Belgium, with extensive responsibilities in general management, working for a global player in the B2B Services Industry.

Client Details

My client is a global player active in the B2B Services Industry. They are a group of companies who unite different brands under one umbrella. Their most popular brands supply the following services:

  • An international shopping community with attractive shopping benefits for their consumers;
  • A solution that enables clubs and organisation with a large member base as well as large companies to provide their own members/employees with the benefits of the group;
  • A cost-efficient and innovative customer loyalty program for small and medium-sized enterprises that allows them to become a part of a global shopping world.

Currently they are looking for a Country Subsidiary Managing Director, reporting to the Management Board and General Director, to implement and to administrate my client's activities for the region of Belgium, with office location in the greater region of Brussels.


The Country Subsidiary Managing Director is responsible for the development of prosperous and successful activity in his/her country. His/her main areas of activity are to:

  • Build an attractive merchant network for the consumer community
  • Constant and successful relationship management with merchants to ensure the long term and valuable cooperation
  • Identify and negotiate key accounts relevant to the country in collaboration with KA department
  • Constant and successful relationship management with the members of the consumer community with the aim to improve service level of local operations
  • Protect and increase the consumer community image in the local market, by applying corrective behaviours if needed
  • Contribute to constant growth of the general number of members of the consumer community and their shopping turnovers
  • Efficiently manage subsidiary within the limits of approved costs budget
  • Implement and control methods and process according with the instructions of the headquarters
  • Assure local subsidiary is providing a highest services standard for the consumer community in the country
  • Manage the subsidiary according to the local laws and regulations; to assure that all the documentation and processes are according with the local law
  • Timely and accurate manner to meet the Board orders and other instructions; to implement and control methods and process according with the instructions of the headquarters

  • Develop and submit proposals to the Management Board for approval of the structure of local subsidiary
  • After the consultation with and approval of the General Director to recruit employees, to determine their remuneration within the approved budget, assign tasks for employees, determine employee competence and responsibility, control of employees and make other management-related tasks; decide on the local subsidiary employee's recruitment, dismissal, salary review, promotion and disciplinary measures and control its implementation
  • Develop a cooperative agreement projects and ensure their implementation
  • Participate in the process of planning, managed by appointed bodies/persons, make recommendations for operations improvement
  • Participate in the events held within the group
  • Initiate local subsidiary labour standers, updates


As the future Country Subsidiary Managing Director, you should have following qualifications:

  • Higher education level, preferably MBA or Master's degree in a relevant area
  • Full professional proficiency in English, Dutch and French
  • At least 5 years in a managerial position, within the domain of sales & services
  • Perfect communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to initiate changes
  • Responsible and diplomatic attitude
  • Ability to work in the multi-cultural environment
  • Good knowledge and connections in B2B services as well as retail services sector
  • Stress-resistance
  • Ability to influence people
  • Good team and relationship management skills
  • Ability to speak in public
  • Change management experience
  • Extensive corporate experience and network
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
