Context & responsibilities

Our client is part of a large international group with operations worldwide.

The position is located in Hainaut (South) at +/- 1 hour drive of Mons/Charleroi.

We are currently looking for their local Finance & Administrative Director who will be responsible for all finance and accounting activities for the site, as well as purchasing, and will report to the Global VP Finance & Controlling for the Business Unit and locally, to the Site General Manager/Managing Director.

The person we are looking for will ensure, that all finance, accounting, analysis and reporting activities at the site are timely and accurate and aligned with Group standards and local statutory requirements. She/he will a team of around 10 persons including finance, accounting & purchasing.

Key responsibilities focus on ensuring continuing improvements in finance processes, especially in cost accounting, controlling, planning, analysis and reporting. Ensuring that local finance processes are aligned with the strategy of the business and the site and accurately reflect business requirements, is essential. The Finance & Administrative Director work closely with the Director purchasing Europe & Asia, who is based abroad.

Profile

You have between 7 to 15 years’ experience in leading finance and management accounting activities, ideally in a process-manufacturing environment in Belgium, and preferably in the context of an international organization.

You are able to lead a finance organization that is predominantly French speaking, but whose management expertise is most likely to have been developed outside the region. You are at ease working closely with the Group, sharing its values and objectives and able to put these into practice in the local context.

Above all, you are an outstanding leader with sound communication, negotiation and persuasions skills, who can embed solid finance processes that support the business strategy. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to deal proactively with the inevitable ambiguities and complexities of the business and operations are highly regarded.

You are fluent in French and have a very good knowledge of English.
