Based at our Global Headquarters in the Brussels region, reporting directly to the Group Channel Director, in order to further strengthen our Global Sales Channels division, we are currently seeking our:

 

Global Account Manager - New Retail Segments

(Brussels region, Belgium)

 

The high level objective for this role will be achieved in two phases: 1) Develop an understanding of & adapt our strategy for new retail segments (Online/Convenience Stores/Hard Discounters), and, 2) Implement this strategy by building our business with a number of prioritized customers as the Global Account Manager (large, multinational retail brands).

 

Key Accountabilities

Build understanding of the following 3 retail segments: Online/Convenience Stores/Hard Discounters
 

  1. Map the segment :
    1. Structure & evolution : turnover /market share/main players per region/business model…
    2. Ensure clear understanding of the customers’ needs for the different segments
    3. Detailed analysis of the current Bakery/Patisserie/chocolate business : turnover/margin potential/category priority/products in the range/support programs/supply chain/challenges/opportunities
    4. Profiles of the main retailers
       
  2. Develop future scenarios: segment evolution + main retailers’ perspectives: Who’ll be tomorrow’s winners ?
     

For the 3 segments: evaluate business & profit potential and build an adapted strategy & plan to translate the potential in sales
 

  1. Business potential: in total + per Business Unit
  2. Objectives at sales – profit level: short & long term
  3. Develop adapted plan for long and short term:
     
    1. Where to play:  determine the focus
      1. customer prioritization per segment
      2. finished product segments/ingredients
      3. geographies
         
    2. How to win: 
      1. business development team & capabilities needed to be successful
      2. Key Account Plan for the prioritized customers

Develop the business with selected customers as Global Account Manager:

  • Build a strong international business development team
  • Customer Intelligence
  • Strategic Planning
  • Project management & Business development
    • Business management
    • Contact for the account’s international organization

 

Profile

Academic degree: Masters level preferred, preferably in Business Administration and/or Marketing

Experience :

  • A proven track record in Key Account Management (min 5 years), within a similar multinational context
  • Prior experience in selling to 1 of the 3 channels : Online/CVS/Discounters
  • Ideally: Category Management or Customer/Consumer Marketing experience is a plus
