The logistic supervisor manages people, processes and systems, in order to ensure goods are received, stored, packaged and dispatched safely, timely and efficiently, and proper records are maintained.

Description

Details include :

  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods

  • Ensuring orders are processed fficiently and that the reception/delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements

  • Monitoring and maintaining stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy

  • Liaising with internal customers, suppliers and transport companies when required in a timely way

  • Leading and participating to meetings (team, inter-department, supplier meetings…)

  • Managing logistic master data in the ERP system (lead times…)

  • Developing, implementing and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for logistic operations

  • Providing a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times

  • Ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

  • Organizing and managing the yearly inventory

  • Identification and implementation of solutions when problems or escalation occurs

Accountability for logistic KPIs (reception lead times, inventory differences …)

People management

Details include :

  • Supervising the logistic team and managing day to day operations

  • Planning, managing and adjusting staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements

  • Building team philosophy and cultivating a team atmosphere by working with the team to achieve the company's targets and objectives

  • Maintaining training matrix and ensuring employees are adequately trained and competent within their role to ensure operational flexibility

  • Providing operational support and guidance

  • Target setting and evaluating members of the team

Identification of opportunities and implementation of improvement actions

Profile

Business Skills

  • Proficient understanding of logistics processes (e.g. incoming goods, stock and warehouse management…)

  • Good knowledge of lean tools

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a logistics or warehouse environment

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

IT-Skills

  • ERP/Warehouse Management systems, SAP is a plus

  • Advanced Excel skills

Languages

  • Fluent in English
