The Residential HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining 700,000 US Dollars of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment in 240 residential properties spread across the greater Brussels area. The Residential HVAC Technician performs hands-on Journeyman level HVAC trade duties on sophisticated building systems and equipment. The HVAC Technician is 1 of 3 HVAC Technicians in the HVAC Shop.
Performs scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance services for all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment. To include: split-package cooling/heat pumps, chilled water cooling units, gas boilers and furnaces, electric boilers and furnaces, piping, wiring and control systems, VAV dampers, variable frequency drives, duct work, filters, fan coil units, radiators, heat exchangers, motorized valves, circulation valves, actuators and dampers.
Follows the guidance given by the HVAC shop foreman and the manufactures maintenance guides to carry out all types of inspections, calibrations and cleaning functions. Utilizes test equipment such as volt/ohm meters, meggers, amp meters, thermal imagers, combustion analyzers, gas leak detector and pressure gauges to test and evaluate heating and cooling systems to ensure they are dependable, safe and operating at peak efficiency. Cross trains and conducts routine inspections and emergency repairs in support of the electrician and plumbing trades.
-High school degree and technical training as a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician.
-At least 3 years of Journeyman level experience in the HVAC trade.
-Thorough knowledge of the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning trade at a journeyman level. Basic computer skills to include the Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Level 3 (good working knowledge) in Dutch or French, level 2 (working knowledge) in English.
-Must have a valid G1, G2, G3 and L certificate for gas burners and liquid fuels in the regions of Flanders, Brussels and Wallon. Must have the ability to perform most tasks with minimal supervision. Must be able to read and understand drawings and technical manuals. Must have a valid class “B” driver’s license. Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
