MIF Junior Consultant to Support Data Analytics for the IBD in Washington (M/F)


Contexte

The Multilateral lnvestment Fund (MIF) serves as an innovation laboratory for the lnter-American Development Bank (IDB), promoting development through the private sector by identifying, supporting, testing and piloting new solutions to development challenges and seeking to create opportunities for the poor and vulnerable populations in the LAC region. To fulfill its role, the MIF engages and inspires the private sector and works with the public sector when needed.

As part of its innovation function, the MIF is pushing an ambitious digital agenda , in which data and information is fully utilized as an asset for the Fund. The Fund is seeking a young professional consultant to work with a selected team on the digitalization of its business model and analytical capabilities.


Fonction

The candidate will contribute on the development of a renewed data architecture and systems aimed to improve the project identification, monitoring and evaluation. The effort will particularly focus on data management, visualization and results measurement. The young professional will also contribute on the application of data analytics to specific problems that the MIF is looking at, using data from MIF partners and other sources; the young professional will also work on data analytics related to the MIF's payment for results agenda, taking advantage of vanguard technologies, such as blockchain to make this possible. The consultant will also be involved in exploration of new ways of extracting knowledge from the portfolio, including the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.


Profil recherché

  • The candidate must be European citizens from Wallonia Region;
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant field;
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience, some of which would preferably have been in the areas Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics.
  • Good knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and off-the-shelves solutions to be applied in the most efficient ways to the MIF's business needs;
  • Creativity and looking-forward mindset with practical applications to the digitalization efforts of the fund;
  • Deep knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem of applications;
  • Proficiency working with large datasets and relational databases, proficiency in R, SAS, or related statistical software, knowledge of data mining and machine learning techniques, knowledge of programming languages used by the industry (e.g. Python);
  • You are proficient in Spanish and English (required). Knowledge of another official language (French and/or Portuguese) is desirable;
  • An experience in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean is a plus;
  • Clean criminal record (in order to be granted a G4 visa, delivered by the IADB);
  • Candidates with relatives working for the IDB, IDB lnvest, or MIF as staff members or Complementary Workforce contractuals, will not be eligible to provide services for the Bank.


Modalités pratiques

  • Durée du contrat : 24 mois renouvelable 12 mois.
