ROSIER is a mineral fertiliser manufacturer based in Moustier (Belgium) since 1880.  ROSIER is listed on the Brussels Euronext Stock Market and is part of the Borealis Group chemical division. For the plant based in Moustier, Rosier is looking for a Reliability and Inspection Engineer.

Junior Agronomist (expert exotic plants) (H/F)

Role Purpose : 

Acting as a member of the Marketing Department Team, role holder is responsible to deliver profitable growth by defining and successful implementation of the agronomic strategy in the fields of lobbying, advisory service, field trials, and product promotion and development. 

Keeps close contact with internal stakeholders (i.e. sales) and aligns the activities with them. 

Contibutes actively to share the agronomical knowledge internally and externally.

He/ she is responsible that marketing and commercial positioning of the products is based upon understanding of the customer’s perceived value of Rosier and Borealis fertilizer products versus competitive offering. 

Shaping and lobbying a prospering legal frame for the business has to be done within Fertilizers Europes Agriculure Committe.

 Area of responsibility :

  • In close co-operation with marketing manager and general managers of Rosier/ Borealis subsidiaries, he/she ensures that we meet time, cost and quality targets for new agronomic measurements: 
    • campaignes with agronomical background
    • field trials
    • winter season presentations
    • introductions of new product into the markets.
  • Contributes to the development of the BusinessUnit (BU) Strategy by describing and predicting of the BU back market conditions (agriculutural markets) 
  • Develops and adjusts with the Marketing Manager objectives and KPI' s in order to achieve high field trial and advisory service performance throughout the company and subsidiaries.
  • Timely identifys market and customer opportunities by a thorough understanding of the value chain and Rosier/Borealis competitive position
  • Proactively and timely contributes to the development of differentiated products or product improvements based upon defined customer and market needs  
  • Supports development and implementation of BU tools and processes for reaching marketing excellence in the areas of market understanding, competitive understanding, value marketing, and product launch 
  • Contributes and supports reliable and relevant market intelligence tools by providing a sound and actual agronomical background.
  • Aligns the activities with all relevant stakeholders upfront (i.e. sales, marketing)
  • Takes an active role in internal and external knowledge sharing by preparing and performing presentations, reportings, agronomic articles, newsletters, fertilizer hints
  • Ensures that the agronomic content on Rosier/Borealis website is constantly up-to-date
  • Implements and performs all relevant agronomic activities and contributes actively to reach the expectations


  • Support the activities of Sales & Advisory Services by providing tools, structure and processes 
  • Contacts frequently customers and important stakeholders to understand current and future market trends and customer needs (Lobbying and shaping business model)
  • Supports successful implementation of Rosier/Borealis brand and products in close co-operation with core management team, sales management and marketing colleagues.


  • Academic agronomic degree preferably enhanced with commercial education
  • Mastery of the English language at business level 
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good knowledge on exotic plants


  • 2-3 years agronomical experience. 
  • Thorough understanding of the structure of the market and the factors that influence demand and profitability in fertilizer business
  • High technical understanding of fertilizers and their applications
  • Thorough strategic understanding of customers and other value chain members needs and match this with internal assets capabilities 
  • Excellent customer and stakeholder relationship skills.
