Industrialisation & Technical Manager

Founded in 2011, BOTALYS is a start-up company specialized in the horticultural production of highly bioactive and innovative medicinal plants.

In collaboration with UMONS and the Haute Ecole Condorcet at Ath, BOTALYS has developed a unique cultivation method inspired by vertical farming and hydroponics that allows growing better plants. The company produces the most bioactive form of Red Ginseng available at scale and currently explores the possibilities to expand the technology to other bioactive medicinal plants.

BOTALYS’ clients include key players from the nutraceutical, cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries.

In order to meet BOTALYS’ future challenges, we are currently looking for a (m/f):

Industrialisation & Technical Manager

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for the set-up of a new production unit in Wallonia. You will oversee the industrialization, automation, maintenance and safety of the vertical farming production unit to meet Botalys’ ambitions and objectives.

Your responsibilities include:

• Establish specifications, identify subcontractors and suppliers, and preliminary budgets.
• Design the plan of automatization and digitization of the production lines.
• Develop the industrial scaling-up project and design the industrialization documentation.
• Identify and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Carry out the planning and supervise the construction until the start-up of the facility.
• Prepare specific equipment & manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure that the execution of your projects is based on a correct estimate of cost, timing and expectation.
• Report project progression to the management committee.

Profile:

• You hold a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
• You have at least 7 years’ experience in industrialization of a production unit.
• You have a proven experience in automatization and digitalization of a production unit.
• You have a proven experience in safety management (process and construction).
• You communicate and collaborate effectively with many stakeholders.
• You have good negotiation skills.
• You have strong people and project management skills.
• You are rigorous, flexible, able to work autonomously and to multitask
• You are fluent in French and English.
