Entreprise Architect

Role

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining, implementing and communicating the IT architectural vision, structure & principles and related solutions that support the business strategy within our client.  

This individual will provide architectural leadership to the IT business, application & infrastructure architects in particular and to the IT teams in general. He/she works very closely with the different business units in order to align IT solutions with the needs of the organisation.  In particular, he/she will guide and support the continuous improvement of the current IT environment and the delivery of new IT solutions.

Responsibilities

Defining the overall IT enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap. Understanding and advocating the business needs and translating this needs into key business drivers to ensure appropriate architecture recommendations. Providing architecture recommendation taking into account different perspectives (business needs, integration, Total Costs of Ownership, maturity and readiness) Establishing an architecture design authority to manage adherence to the IT strategy and architecture principles Monitoring and influencing the execution of the architecture strategy through IT projects and business-as-usual initiatives; leading and facilitating the architectural decision-taking process following validation mechanisms inside projects or within the IT team Collaborating closely with IT and business teams to ensure that their functional analysis, technical design and solution design aligns with the architecture principles Ensuring that IT architecture standards and guidelines are defined, communicated and documented in a standard way Looking for innovative and cost-effective IT solutions and influencing IT investment decisions Executing market analysis and maintain good relationships with key IT vendors and IT partners in the field of Enterprise Architecture Supporting the Project Managers in providing advisory and feedback in case of changes on scope which might have an effect on the overall architecture  

Requirements

Master degree or equivalent by experience Deep technical understanding of enterprise architecture and frameworks (TOGAF, SparX, ...); experience in some domains such as Enterprise / Domain architecture, Technical / Infrastructure architecture, Integration architecture, Information / Data Architecture & Business Architecture or Strategic Planning; experience in Information / Data Architecture is considered an important plus Extensive experience with projects involving different technologies and application platforms in a large organization and demonstrated knowledge of the challenges faced by different teams in coming up with an integrated enterprise wide solution Strong knowledge of technologies and trends relevant to the business units Familiar with software development lifecycles and related good/best practices Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation and this at all levels; ability to navigate the enterprise “politics”; able to drive change in an organization; natural authority Strong leadership skills Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional, highly matrixed organization, including corporate and third-party resources
