Supply Chain Engineer, Planning & Engineering Department (entry level position)

Function The purpose of the job:

The focus areas are process engineering and continuous improvement, tactical planning and implementations, ops technology planning/support and analysis to support strategic network planning and optimize efficiency. The Supply Chain Engineer acts as an Internal Consultant.

As Supply Chain Engineer, you will: 

• Work closely with ground operations teams to optimize ground operations through planning and engineering activities
• Support station/depot engineering, on-road planning, sort and ramp planning, operational processes and linehaul efficiency and planning
• Support the pilot and roll-out and of new technology and the maintaining of base systems 
• Improve operational processes and optimize workflow 
• Optimize layout of operational locations
• Establish optimum manning (staffing) levels
• Establish and maintain communication with country operations and central Engineering teams 

Profile The right Supply Chain Engineer will have the following profile:

• University degree, preferably in (Business) Engineering
• Excellent knowledge of English is a must (working language)
• Hands-on initiative taker willing to go in the field to observe, analyze and optimize operation processes 
• A ‘can do" attitude
• Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Excellent interpersonal & negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout various functional groups and hierarchical levels
• Proficient use of Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) + a strong interest for IT technology, database management and programming
