Currently, our client is looking for an Intellectual Property Engineer for Liège.

* PHD or degree in ICT, electronics, physics or related technical fields
* Interest in the legal aspect of intellectual property
* Fluent in French and English

You will advise innovating companies and be intensively involved in all aspects of protecting their innovation (intellectual property (IP) strategy, protection, active management, defence, valuation, etc.). You will work in close cooperation with your colleagues throughout the Group to ensure the best possible services and advise your clients in the best possible ways as to all aspects of innovation. You will protect the interests of the clients at the Belgian and European Patent Office, as well as at other foreign offices via local associates. After qualification, you will become more and more responsible for the cases and clients in your technical field.

You have a university degree and preferably a PhD in ICT, mechanics, electronics, physics or related technical fields with a keen interest in the legal aspect of IP. You have a good fundamental understanding of your technical specialty and you're able to translate your theoretical knowledge into practical projects. You have a basic knowledge of international laws regarding intellectual property and of IP commercialization processes. You have an excellent command of French or Dutch and are fluent in English; knowledge of German is considered as a plus (written and oral). About your soft skills, you are responsible, stress resistant (able to work with tight deadlines), eager to learn and flexible. You are motivated and have a positive attitude. You present a commercial attitude to develop business and you are able to integrate into a team and take part in the development of the business for the local office.
