Job description

With a direct reporting to the Director Human Resources West Europe, lead Human Resources function at country level (Belgium, 120 FTE), in order to efficiently realize company's HR objectives according to corporate strategy and principles and within budget.

Objectives

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Develop and implement HR programs and policies for the country to ensure that the organization’s current and future HR requirements are met and that employees are recruited, managed, organized, trained, evaluated and rewarded in accordance with organization’s HR strategy.
  • Provide support to local line management and Area/Regional HR leadership by coordinating all HR activities of the company within the country.

People Management

  • Direct management responsibilities for the HR Business Partner.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Participate in the development of compensation and benefits programs at country level.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of those programs, including internal equity and competitive structures, recommending modifications as appropriate.
  • Lead the annual salary review process to ensure relevant market benchmarking and internal consistency. Partner with salary data vendors to provide regional and market insight.

Employee Relations

  • Represent management in negotiations with employees, unions, employer bodies, government agencies, labor relations authorities…
  • Stay current on legislative and compliance trends and changes, proactively providing advice and counselling on such matters.

Training and Development

  • Define HR training programs within the country.
  • Lead the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans and employee development programs.
  • Review the current system and mentor HR Managers to upgrade performance review effectiveness for all employees and managers.

Recruitment

  • Provide overall direction for recruiting strategy, guidelines and procedures concerning staffing best practices, systems, and methodology within the country.
  • Lead the talent acquisition program to establish effective recruiting practices and implement a successful orientation and onboarding program.

Employee Communications

  • Responsible for development, execution, and management of internal communications programs that strengthen employee engagement and ensure alignment with global business goals.

Budget

  • Develop HR financial strategy (on the country level) by estimating requirements and securing required financial resources. 

Payroll

  • Oversee the correct processing of payroll.

Profile

  • Master degree, minimum of 8 years of prior relevant professional experience;
  • In depth knowledge of local Labor Regulations, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations;
  • Experience with change management, employee training and coaching skills is highly appreciated;
  • Languages: professional knowledge of French and English (any other language is a plus).
