GL ACCOUNTANT

For a client active in the FMCG sector and located in Zaventem, Hays is actively looking for a GL Accountant (medior or senior).

As GL Accountant you are responsible for the monthly closing (BE GAAP & US GAAP), you review and explain the actual variances compared to the budget/forecasts and you discuss the monthly reporting with the controller. You maintain of the GL reconciliations, prepare and post the bank statements and prepare on a weekly basis the vendor payment runs. There is a part of internal control as well, and you ensure the adequation of internal control and compliance with the internal audit (SOX), you are involved in the continuous improvement of processes and you prepare monthly the documentation required by the internal audit. In addition to that, you have various ad-hoc projects.

You have an accounting degree (Bachelor or Master) and at least 2 years' experience in a similar role. You speak English fluently, both verbally and written; the knowledge of Dutch or French is a strong plus. You have experience with SAP and strong skills in Excel. In addition to that, you're eager to learn, stress resistant, proactive and you can manage deadlines and multitasking.
