Robert Half Finance & Accounting is currently looking for a Senior Accountant for a permanent position based in Brussels.

Our client is a fast growing company active in the private equity sector.

As Senior Accountant you will have the following responsibilities:

• Act as the custodian of good professional accounting practice;
• Maintain all general ledgers including entering and posting journal entries adding/deleting accounts;
• Manage payables and receivables (incl. cost control and cost analysis);
• Prepare outgoing invoices;
• Participate in local treasury function (incl. preparation of payments);
• Help in maintaining a close relationship with banks;
• Reconcile bank statements, generate and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement);
• Prepare all Belgian VAT filings;
• Prepare local Belgian GAAP financial statements for the entities of group (currently six entities) to be publish at the national bank;
• Prepare national bank or FSMA reportings;
• Prepare all compliance and reporting related tasks for Belgium in collaboration with the Junior Financial Controller and Deputy CFO;
• Prepare legal documentation and other governance related documents as required (i.e., management report, shareholder meeting minutes, board meeting minutes);
• Work with local auditor and other advisors during annual close.

The required profile for the Senior Accountant position:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting;
• 5 years experience; experience in an investment company is a strong plus;
• Native fluency in French, and proficient in business English. Dutch is a plus;
• Enjoy working within a multi‐cultural and international team environment;
• Comfortable in a multi‐lingual environment and possess good interpersonal skills;
• Operational efficiency with a pragmatic and common-sense approach, and with a continuous strive for best-practices implementation.
• Rigorous with strong analytical skills;
• Pro‐active and able to effectively prioritize workflow against predetermined deadlines;
• Flexible and able to learn and adapt in a fast‐paced environment.
