Our client, an international and growing company within the field of logistics and transportation, is actively looking for a Junior Operations Coordinator. In this position you will be responsible for import and export related task.

The company is located in the city center of Antwerp and easily reachable by car or with public transport.

Description

As a Junior Customer Service Operations you will be responsible for all work associated with each import and export job. This includes: bookings, trucking orders, documentation, data entry, monitoring and all other aspects of
imports/export operations

In more detail:

• Booking and securing space with ocean carriers on behalf of our customers
• Preparing and sending booking advice/confirmations to our customers, their forwarders, and interested parties. This includes notifying our offices overseas of pending shipments.
• Arranging plant appointments for loading containers and coordinating the loading with our contracted trucking companies.
• Confirm loading of tanks with trucking companies and track loaded tanks to the pier.
• Send written confirmation to our accounting department which includes rates, terms, charges and other information.
• Prepare shipping documents, instructions and certifications (shipping papers) including dock receipts and IMDG certifications.
• Prepare bills of lading instructions based on information supplied by forwarders and supply instructions for production and release of ocean bills of lading to steamship lines.
  
• Authorize release and supply release instructions to steamship lines.
• Distribute copies of ocean bills of lading and other required documentation to our overseas (destination) offices upon departure of the shipments by vessel.
  
• Send payment requirements to accounting for carriers requiring payment prior to release.
• When required, confirm release of shipments at destination with steamship lines,
  forward confirmation when required to foreign offices.

• Higher education within this field is a strong asset (Bachelor Logistics Management,...)
• Fluent in English
