Finance Director - Permanent Contract Liège

We are looking for a Finance Director m/f/x to establish and manage the financial functions at an established Biologics contract research, development and manufacturing organisation based in the Liege area.

The organisation currently has €2-3M in sales and is well positioned to grow substantially in coming years.

We are looking for a Finance Director with a proven track record of working with small companies, to take responsibility and accountability for management of the company's financial function and helping to manage operations accordingly.

In your role, your responsabilities are:

• Immediate switch of financial year end and implementation of accrual / project based management system, with monitoring of project level costs
• Support for implementation of new pricing systems at subsidiary level
• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions at the subsidiary and reporting to CEO and group level CFO
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Managing external finance related to the ongoing facility expansion
• Supporting the annual budgeting process at group level
• Assisting in the installation of new business infrastructure and ensuring inter-operability with financial functions (e.g. ERP, CRM)

For this role, your qualifications are :

Must-have:

• Qualified CPA designation is preferred. Other accounting designations will also be considered when combined with significant relevant work experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience required
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas (asset)
• Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Applications, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual in English and French
• Solid understanding of different international accounting standards
• Experience in project-based companies

• Experience in Healthcare / Life Sciences companies
• Experience of working with Private Equity-backed companies

• Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships
• Highly motivated and organized
• Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Prior audit experience in one of the Big 4 firms
