Our client is one of the world's largest reinsurers and a leader in the private health insurance market in Belgium. They are looking for a Legal Counsel Insurance Law for their office in Brussels (located next to the train station).

Description

As Legal Counsel in Insurance Law in the Brussels office, you will report directly to the Head of Legal and provide legal advice and support to all business operations in relation to life and health insurance law (contract law, distribution law, tax matters, consumer protection, etc.). Your main responsibilities include:

Drafting and review of (pre)contractual insurance documentation, commercial contracts and settlement agreementsAdvice on legal complaintsManagement of litigation matters and liasing with external lawyersMonitoring of new legislation

Profile

As Legal Counsel in Insurance Law, you:

Have a Master's degree in Law (a postgraduate in commercial or insurance law is a plus)Have at least 3 years of experience as a lawyer or in-house legal counsel (previous experience is life insurance is a plus)Are fluent in Dutch or French and have an excellent knowledge of EnglishHave strong communication skillsAre business oriented and good at alaysing and summarising information Are energetic, enthusiastic and flexible
