Functieomschrijving

As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible of the production of timely and reliable accounting information and the maintenance of an appropriate controls environment They are responsible for managing the day-to-day activity or a team or accountants (currently 4 people) in order to meet monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines and comply with tax and accounting requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach the accounting team
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
  • Review general account distribution
  • Monitor/ review joumal entries
  • Review recording of payroll transactions based on information provided by HR and Payroll
  • Ensure consistent accounting policy and procedures in compliance with Belgian GAAP
  • Monitor proper monthly cut-off and closing procedures
  • Communicate with US group finance controllers
  • Back up for VAT filings and Tax matters
  • Maintain audit file for statutory auditors and internal reviews
  • Monitor and improve accounting processes and controls

  • Master or Bachelor's Degree in Economics / Accounting
  • At least 5-8 years or professional experience in accounting, ideally some experience as accounting manager within international or large accounting company
  • Experience in managing a small team Is essential
  • Awareness Us GAAP is an asset
  • Knowledge of an ERP system, such as JD Edwards is an assel
  • Results oriented
  • Proactive
  • Team player with people management skills
  • Fluent in englsh
