Accounts Payable Manager

For one of its clients, Robert Half is looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Accounts Payable Supervisor.

Our client, based in Corbais, is active in the industrial sector.

As an AP Supervisor, you will be responsible for the performance and control of activities within the accounts payable department reporting to the Belgium Chief Accountant in order to ensure proper recording of the AP documents and adequate control level on the expense cycle.

The expertise acquired in the AP processes will allow you to support any other AP team member in the daily operations and to actively participate to AP processes evolutions.

You will manage a team of 3, providing support and coaching regarding processes, month-end reporting to other teams and manage ad hoc analysis on AP subledgers.

You will be responsible for :

• Being the key contact of the Procurement Process Manager for accounting related questions ;
• Taking active part to the design, analysis and testing phases of the IT developments either in support to the Chief Accountant or representing the department ;
• Regularly revisiting AP process and suggest evolution.

• Perform daily registration of invoices or other supporting financial documents related to accounts payable
• Ensure a correct VAT codification
• Treat expense notes
• Be in contact with other accounting, purchasing and controlling teams
• Support business with invoices approval processes questions or issues
• Clear the payable subledgers
• Follow up the AP accounts (open items)
• Perform AP closing and the necessary analysis in the correct timeframe
• Contact suppliers in the context of invoices/payment management
• Ensure that internal controls rules are properly applied
• Create and maintain the AP downstream dashboards

Interested? For this position you'll need the following education, experience and skills:

• Accounting/VAT/Taxes knowledge for AP related matters
• SAP expert in FI/AP and MM matters
• Accurate and organized
• Autonomous
• Communication skills with internal and external customers
• Team player
• Pedagogue and patient
• Deadline oriented
• Fluent in French. Good knowledge of English is important. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• Bachelor in accounting (or master in Finance)
• 7 years of experience, among which 3 years in a similar position in a large size company
