Job profile and responsibilities

We are offering a full-time position as Communications Officer and we are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented graduate with outstanding writing and digital skills to join our team in Brussels, Belgium. As a communications officer, you'll manage and develop tools and contents to support our members' strategies and to inform external stakeholders.

We welcome applications from experienced professionals and junior professionals who wish to develop their careers in the EU affairs environment in Brussels.

Essential job functions

• Manage social media in collaboration with the Executive Director and policy-focused colleagues; Update the various websites of IMA-Europe and its section members; Develop visuals and promotional materials to support advocacy and research work and promote the organisation externally; Provide support regarding editing of various documents and PowerPoint presentations Draft press releases and other communication contents aimed to amplify IMA-Europe and its section members’ messaging and positions; Develop graphic layouts/designs for reports and other documents, as necessary; Assist in other tasks on request (i.e. PR, on-site events…)

Qualifications and requirements

• 1-3 years experience Master degree in Communication or Journalism; a qualification in Information is a plus; Fluent in English. French or another EU language is an asset; Excellent analytical and writing skills with an open mind for technical and scientific matters; Knowledge of MS office, Adobe Suite, Wordpress, InDesign.  Additional skills are a plus; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - a positive approach with a self-learning attitude; Ability to work on multiple assignments;

Who are we?

IMA-Europe is a lobby organisation in Brussels, representing the European industrial minerals producers. Our field of activity focuses on all non-commercial issues related to minerals, from their extraction and processing through to their end-use applications. Priorities evolve around health and safety at the workplace, environmental protection, product safety as well as public awareness about the importance of industrial minerals.
